MAZAHUA VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE

M.V.B.I. and M.V.M. partner together to minister in the Mazahua Valley

.
Teachers and students gather at the Mazahua Valley Bible Institute (MVBI) for classes. At its inception, ten years ago, students met in different churches for classes until about 6 years ago when land was bought by the churches for the construction of the MVBI. During the construction classes were held in makeshift rooms with no windows, doors, or roofs. Now we are blessed to have the first floor completed. Funds are being raised to finish the second floor which will eventually hold a library and dorm rooms for students who travel from remote communities.

2005 GRADUATION!

In December of 2005 we celebrated the graduation of four students from the Mazahua Valley Bible Institute.  The MVM supported two of the graduating students, Berenice and Filemon, with a monthly scholarship.  The new school year started in January 2006.  Enrollment is down this year, but the teachers and students are very dedicated to finishing their theological training.  This year, the MVM is sponsoring 8 students at the Bible Institute.  We continue to support Javier Gonzalez, Felipe Galindo, Mercedes Canales, and Leyva Preciado, but we add to that list Laura Felipe, Esther Dimas, Angelina Balderas, and Maria Gudalupe Gonzalez.  Tacho is teaching the Synoptic Gospels while Samuel is teaching Church History and the Epistles.  This past January we were blessed with a group of seminary students from the Master's Institute in St. Paul , Minnesota .  They were able to meet with these students and teachers and together build bookshelves for their library.

Here are some pictures of the graduation ceremony at the Mazahua Valley Bible Institute (December 05). Two of the students whom we support with a scholarship graduated (Berenice and Filemon) We have already selected two new students to receive a scholarship in their place. Classes for the new school year start January 2006.

Summer 2004 Update:

We were happy to witness the completion of the second floor of the Mazahua Valley Bible Institute (IBVM) this summer. It will be used for dormitories and more classrooms. The IBVM is a three year program run by the Mazahua people to prepare lay leaders and pastors to do ministry among their people and also as missionaries. There are approximately 40 students. Starting in January (which is the beginning of their school year) we will be supporting five of their students with a monthly scholarship.
