Here are some of our highlighted ministries:

SUPPORTING EDUCATION

Student Ministry

The MVM is also a Christian home which offers room/board to 10-15 students who come from remote villages to pursue a high school and/or university degree in the town of Atlacomulco. Some of them are only 15 years old when they come to live with us and have never before left their families or villages. We try to help them adjust to their new environment by providing mentoring and tutoring and in their spiritual journey through Bible studies, and retreats. Besides these students, the MVM also provides scholarships to 10 students attending schools outside of Atlacomulco.

Mazahua Valley Bible Institute

Mazahua Valley Bible Institute is an interdenominational Bible institute founded by Mazahua pastors to train lay leaders and pastors for service in their communities or as missionaries. It was begun with the backing of churches from the Assemblies of God in Mexico City. Now, the majority of the teachers are graduates of the same institution such as Samuel Eugenio [staff]. We are also proud of the many female graduates, such as Samuel's wife, Eva, who are also very important to the ministry and growth of the church. Tacho and Samuel have been very active as teachers at the Bible institute which has allowed us the opportunity to see the students grow in knowledge and spiritually. The MVM provides 8 students with scholarships.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Vida Digna Outreach Program

Vida Digna, which literally means "living with dignity", is a community program aimed at drawing in and reaching out to our surrounding community with the love of Christ. We believe that as children of God, made in His image, we should all be treated equally and enjoy the same opportunities to excel in life. Vida Digna provides that opportunity through a sewing workshop, English classes, children's library (El Cuento), computer lab with internet, and reaching out to those with physical and emotional needs. As Christians, our Gospel message should not only be proclaimed with words, but also through our actions. As James wrote, "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do." (James 2:17-18)

CAMPING AND RETREAT MINISTRY

Camping and Christian Retreat Center

Besides housing students; the MVM also serves as a retreat center for local churches. Therefore, we have laid the foundations for four large dormitories which would accommodate a total of 40 campers with the possibility of expanding the project to include more dormitory space and bathrooms in the future.
