Hello everyone, I am thrilled to take this opportunity to share an exciting new ministry at MVM. As many of you know I spent two years teaching English at a university and doing ministry in Wuhan, China. During my time in China I hadthe opportunity to volunteer at Mr. Mais’ Coffee andLanguage Club. Mr. Mais has two purposes; one, to serve great coffee and American desserts, and two, to provide a safe space where Chinese people can practice English. But the coffee shop is not only a business, it is a ministry where every volunteer and staff is Christian. Their goal is toshare Christ’s love with everyone who walks through the doors. Mr. Mais has inspired me to duplicate their model of ministry in Mexico. I just returned from China where I spent two months being trained at Mr. Mais Café so that this fall we will be able to launch the HoneyBee Cafe in Atlacomulco.

Why HoneyBee Cafe? Bees naturally spread pollen among plants, including flowers, trees and also food crops. Without bees many of our plants would cease to exist. Like bees spread pollen, we are called to spread the Gospel with others. Our mission at HoneyBee Cafe is to serve the youth and surrounding community by creating a safe place for people to gather together and experience the love of Christ all while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Our vision is to provide quality coffee and American desserts, a place for people to improve their foreign language skills, and also grow through arts, music, and culture. Our hope is that as we help teenagers and young adults with English we also get the opportunity to share the gospel and eventually form bible study groups.

There are many ways that you can join us on this new adventure. First, and most importantly, we invite you to pray with us. Pray for a place to start the coffee shop. Pray that we will receive the necessary funds to start the coffee shop. Pray for the people who will be coming to HoneyBee Cafeto practice English or just enjoy great coffee. Prayfor volunteers who will be willing to come and practice English with our customers. Second, if you feel led you can contribute towards this project.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to kick start the cafe, Lord willing, in October of this year. Third, we invite you to come and volunteer. Volunteers will practiceconversational English and share Christ’s love withour customers. Our desire is that everyone atHoneyBee Cafe will experience Christ's love while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Thank you in advance for your love, prayers, and support.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support. May God bless you!
